Meet our Conscious Pathways Team

Amelia LeCompte, LCSW + MFT

I am Conscious Pathways’ specialist for couples who are expecting a new baby or have recently welcomed a new baby into their family.

I specialize and thoroughly enjoy working with:

  •   Newly weds/engaged couples
  •   Expecting and new parents
  •   Young adults and teens
  •   Folks struggling with issues of power, privilege, and oppression
  • Anyone with a trauma history

My Background

I have my Masters in Social Work from University of Denver. I’m currently finishing up a post-graduate program at Denver Family Institute to perfect my relationship therapy skills. And lastly, I am completing a birth-educator and doula certification program to further specialize in working with new and expecting parents! I love all things baby!

I love working with clients who are: determined, resilient, humorous, reliable, and going through life transitions. If you are ready to show up for yourself and your healing- I will meet you just where you are at!

I have been called to this work since I was 16, thanks to binge watching Criminal Minds. I was absolutely obsessed with the human brain right off the bat. But I had other passions also:

a love for law, politics, and international affairs that I could not shake; I double majored in political science and psychology and hoped that the dream job would point me down the right path. Thankfully being a therapist and Social Worker allowed me to integrate all these interests.

I don’t see humans as “abnormal” or “disordered”. I see humans as being part of systems that cause us to adapt to change in unique ways. Certain traumas, dynamics, and experiences shape us and sometimes create “symptoms” that we may not love. I will focus on helping you explore the systems you are a part of, how they have impacted you, and honor the remarkable adaptations you developed to get where you are now! Then we can work together to grow and change outdated coping strategies into more functional, healthy ones!

My Approach

I am orderly and fairly left-brained, so if you like structure and an organized treatment direction for your therapy, I would be a great fit for you! I like working with motivated clients who seek solutions and are willing to try new habits to change!

I am quite friendly, passionate, optimistic, fierce, and funny. I am perseverant and a hard worker and that shows up in the therapy room. I will hold hope and optimism, knowing what you are capable of as you move through the work. I am good at understanding where we are headed and breaking down the steps to get you there.

I love to learn, so you can trust I’m always staying on top of my game. If something isn’t working for you, I love getting that feedback and can quickly adjust the tone, pace, or direction of our work together.

I am kind, reliable, strong-willed and resilient. I have invested so much into this career and making sure I’m always learning and bettering myself. I lean more toward the introverted side but it’s because I truly prefer to listen and observe. You can trust that I will be deeply attentive and interested in your stories and experiences, and I will prioritize providing an environment where you feel held and uplifted while sharing.

A Little More About Me

I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I moved to Charleston, South Carolina for college which I absolutely LOVED. The Carolina beaches will always have a very special place in my heart, so you can expect that I will be taking at least one trip back East every year.

While I was in Charleston I also found my wonderful husband, two dogs, and cat. At the start of COVID-19, we packed up the whole family, drove to Denver, and never left.

In my free time I enjoy walking my dogs, scrapbooking, playing board games, and any activity that takes place near the water!
