Therapy is about YOU…your needs, your hopes for change, your life.
It is my job to create a safe, welcoming environment for you to work on the goals we set together.
People begin or return to therapy for all sorts of reasons. But often the catalyst is a significant life transition.
Relationships are suffering, personal issues are becoming too difficult to take, or a particular challenge/situation as arisen.
“We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.”
“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle,
and gorgeous at the end.”
Robin Sharma
Some folks won’t actually wait until the crisis hits. They come in to gain insight about themselves and their history. They take preventative measures and can do more meaningful work while NOT in crisis.
For couples, the best time for therapy is right when you start to notice a disconnection. Just like a car, it is easier to do a relational “tune-up” than to wait until the engine blows!
Regardless of the catalyst, you’re seeking therapy because you are in pain: pain ranging from mild twinges of discomfort to chronic, intense despair.
People seek therapy hoping for a solution…for relief. And that is exactly what I have to offer.
Like with most things that are good for us, the hardest part is STARTING. It takes some time to build momentum in a positive direction.
That’s why making the call is the most difficult, yet crucial, part.
I am here to help add momentum, direction, and accountability to your journey.
If making change was easy to do on your own, you would have done it already!
Let me add my energy and expertise to your desire for change.
And together, create a satisfying and intentional life.
About Me
Therapy is a profound practice and a privilege I do not take lightly. Each time you come in or bring your partner with you, I am deeply moved by your bravery and vulnerability.
You have chosen to be pro-active about your lives and refuse to suffer any longer. It’s a priceless decision to invest in yourself and your future.
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave (wo)man is not (s)he who does not feel afraid, but (s)he who conquers that fear.”
Nelson Mandela
I have been studying relationships since I was 18 years old as I began my undergraduate degree in Family Science. I also finished with minors in Couple and Family Therapy and Psychology.
This put me ahead of the game when I earned my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in downtown Philadelphia. No better place to get a relationship degree than the City of Brotherly Love!
There I was trained by the Council for Relationships, pioneers in the field of relationship therapy and the first agency to ever offer Couples Therapy in the United States in 1932!
I specialized in Sex Therapy to ensure I had the skills to address any and all things that can come up in therapy!
From there, I practiced in-home family therapy, working with kids and their caregivers, in Philadelphia, earning a 3-year long certification in Structural Family Therapy.
I moved to Colorado in 2014 and am licensed to practice as an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist). Since coming here, I have had extensive specialized training in EMDR and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Since 2020, I have been studying with Medicinal Mindfulness in Boulder, CO to be a Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapist (MBPT). Have you heard the buzz about psychedelics and the rich rewards that more intensive work can offer? I’m proud to be an early adopter these resurging methods!
On a personal note, I live in the Highlands enjoying the perks of the city while escaping to the mountains to camp or hike.
To practice what I preach, I have a rich yoga practice over at Better Buzz Yoga in Sunnyside, lift at F45 Highlands, and regularly go on mindfulness walks with my goldens, Pax and Kane. I like to slow mornings to journal and drink coffee.
I’ve recently been very into Tricia Hersey’s work with the Nap Ministry and “Rest is Resistance.” She’s working to fight the relentless pace of capitalism and support folks in resting and healing our nervous systems. So rest and slowness has been very important to my own healing and the work I help clients with.
Like most transplant Coloradans, I spend my active time camping, hiking, brewery hopping, and finding any other excuse to get outside and sun worship.
